We woke up this cozy and driven to the border crossing from Ar Ramtha. The departure was simple (after I had found someone who wanted the Carnet section ...). For entry to Syria should get the visa in their home country, and therefore we were not so sure of our cause. Immigration greeted us in the building of a high official but friendly and instructed his subordinates to issue us the required visas. We had to fill out two forms, pay the bank money (German have 12 JD, Switzerland 40 JD) and a little patience. Then we were each given a 15 daily tourist visas. Then, still stamped Carnet, take out insurance (32 JD), pay something like Roadtax (8JD) and the famous $ 100 Diesel tax (per week). That's all in the same office as the bank. The "tug" that would help us constantly, we did nothing ... then we could comfortably go to Damascus and the new location of the search "Camping Kaboun. He's pretty well hidden, so here are the coordinates: N33 33 171 20 794 E36. We had the coordinates from the ship of the desert forum. A great information source!

Today we drove via Homs to the "Krak des Cevalliers. Since a Landy stood in front of England, James and Polyanna ( www.sandbagstosanddunes.com ) belongs. It was a bit late for a visit, so we just walked once around the castle and installed us in the camp of the restaurant "Le Table Ronde" directly run next to the castle. James and Polyanna arrived too. You are on the way to Cape Town and wanted to know much. We sat about a long time in the cold outside and chatted.

morning we were in Krak and afternoon we went back to Damascus. Krak is currently being filmed in a movie, therefore it is built on scenes and extras standing around. The English make a detour to Palmyra and then come to Damascus on Friday. Then it was called again to make clothes ...

After we washed in the morning, we took a taxi into town. We walked a while in the old town through the souks and when it started to rain, we sat in a cafe. Later we checked mail in an internet cafe and tried to ATMs. Gabs with my card but no money and so we had a restaurant, which accepts the Visa card. And so we ended up in the "Naranj. It was a sumptuous farewell dinner. The pastries at the end we could not even eat, so we were tired. Because the rain was not dry our laundry and we hung overnight to the bathroom.

The morning was packed with fast cars and clean up past and it was soon time to the airport to drive. There, we drank some tea and then Xenia had been to the check-in. Is in a hall where the escorts are not allowed. So we had to say goodbye already. Xenia is now flying to Cairo and begin on 1 March in the "German University in Cairo" to the line of book binding. We will hopefully see at Easter and again ... then I drove into town and rattled ATM's from. Nobody gave me money, so I went to a currency exchange desk, where I got money on the Master Card. Of course, with horrendous Commission. Back at the campsite, I met James and Polyanna and we chatted again for long. So I could distract me somewhat from the pain of parting. Tomorrow I will now go to Turkey and see when I meet my father, I want to drive up to the Syrian border against.
