Syrien17 Syrien19

There I made lunch on the beach promenade and off we went to Latakia on the Syrian-Turkish border. It began to rain down with rain so I ran from office to office. For Carnetabstempeln I had to pay £ 100 S (42 Syrian pounds are about one-CHF). The departure tax is 500 plus 50 S £ S £ processing fee. After briefly met Wait my father on Turkish border posts, and brought me my new green card. So I could close it after more than 15 months duration in his arms again. He drove with his sprinter Womo to meet here, now we go home together. So quickly register the car in the passport and get the immigration stamp and then we went in the mini convoy to the "Orient Camping" in Konacik. After eight hours of actual driving time, I was quite ko. Jürg cooked hash browns and tomato salad and for something (longer) we were chatting in bed dead tired.

Closed - After a leisurely breakfast we drove to Iskenderun in the city and searched an Internet cafe and a money exchange office. Here in Turkey, the Sunday is back as a "Sunday" (and not Friday, as in other Muslim countries) and therefore are the most close. At a kiosk, I was the remaining £ S but still going. The internet cafe was very crowded and the space adjacent said that the lines were so slow. So I could upload the blog articles from Jordan and Syria have not. It was the mail . Read Later we drove back to the campsite, chatted, looked at photos and read. Evening gabs sausage / cheese salad and we watched another movie.

It rained again something in the night and it is quite windy. We took my car to the north entrance of Hierapolis and Pamukkale, and then strolled around for a while in there. So great had the pictures look like I was not there. Perhaps because of the bad weather (although it was sunny in between), or because so little water. Later we were in a cafe and then have read in the Sprinter. Then There Were sausages for supper with onion sauce with rice and Tomato salad.

Which is quite expensive. So we leave tomorrow on the same. After all, hats a washing machine, I can once again wash well.

We woke up this cozy and driven to the border crossing from Ar Ramtha. The departure was simple (after I had found someone who wanted the Carnet section ...). For entry to Syria should get the visa in their home country, and therefore we were not so sure of our cause. Immigration greeted us in the building of a high official but friendly and instructed his subordinates to issue us the required visas. We had to fill out two forms, pay the bank money (German have 12 JD, Switzerland 40 JD) and a little patience. Then we were each given a 15 daily tourist visas. Then, still stamped Carnet, take out insurance (32 JD), pay something like Roadtax (8JD) and the famous $ 100 Diesel tax (per week). That's all in the same office as the bank. The "tug" that would help us constantly, we did nothing ... then we could comfortably go to Damascus and the new location of the search "Camping Kaboun. He's pretty well hidden, so here are the coordinates: N33 33 171 20 794 E36. We had the coordinates from the ship of the desert forum. A great information source!

James and Polyanna arrived too. You are on the way to Cape Town and wanted to know much. We sat about a long time in the cold outside and chatted.

After we washed in the morning, we took a taxi into town. We walked a while in the old town through the souks and when it started to rain, we sat in a cafe. Later we checked mail in an internet cafe and tried to ATMs. Gabs with my card but no money and so we had a restaurant, which accepts the Visa card. And so we ended up in the "Naranj. It was a sumptuous farewell dinner. The pastries at the end we could not even eat, so we were tired. Because the rain was not dry our laundry and we hung overnight to the bathroom.

The morning was packed with fast cars and clean up past and it was soon time to the airport to drive. There, we drank some tea and then Xenia had been to the check-in. Is in a hall where the escorts are not allowed. So we had to say goodbye already. Xenia is now flying to Cairo and begin on 1 March in the "German University in Cairo" to the line of book binding. We will hopefully see at Easter and again ... then I drove into town and rattled ATM's from. Nobody gave me money, so I went to a currency exchange desk, where I got money on the Master Card. Of course, with horrendous Commission. Back at the campsite, I met James and Polyanna and we chatted again for long. So I could distract me somewhat from the pain of parting. Tomorrow I will now go to Turkey and see when I meet my father, I want to drive up to the Syrian border against.
