so many thought we already raved of the Lüneburg Heath, at some point we have become soft, we go out! As traffic-Lüneburg to reach only unsightly, we have laid the route from Hamburg across the Lüneburg Heath to Bremen. With the goal to check off two large German cycling on our list! ;-)
The journey was spectacular as always by train directly from Cologne to Hamburg. Gabs arrived in Hamburg the same shock: the hotel! The website of the "Novum Hotel Hamburg" in Steindamm 29 promised "individual care in a family Atmossphäre! Something we had to have misunderstand, it was nothing to remember, only one hotel of a dozen a Hamburg hotel chain. The bunker room was not "comfortable and tastefully decorated. No Recommendation. At least we had a roof over their head.
The next morning we went first to the City Tour by Hamburg (including a second breakfast, the hotel breakfast was not very tasty). From St. George üer warehouse district to see to the internal and outer Alster There Were all important.
true great about Hamburg is that it directly reaches the green in no time. No idea where we have the "same Bike Line bike path 2" long leads, but it was nice!

24.05. Horumersiel - Wilhelmshaven
On the last day we did not have as much distance in front of us, so the day began with a leisurely breakfast. Then we cycled through peaceful Friesland direction Wilhelmshaven. The first kilometer, business was good: I went through small villages and varied landscape. At some point we finally reached the sea again - but instead of idyllic beaches there were only huge building sites: the Jade Weser Port. This attempts to build the largest sea port.

In Wilhelmshaven we came too early, so we used the time for a little stroll. The city made a very bleak impression was closed except shopping malls there to see anything. The port was better, but unfortunately it was in the Navy Museum is not able to keep our 4 panniers, so we visited the aquarium or a visit.

After a bit streaky lecture woke us up this time the sun is shining and the prospect of a healthy organic breakfast in our hotel. Really not much time left, unfortunately, as the ferry sailed again very early (really - the tide).
We went along the dikes, with occasional detours to other East Frisian inland to hill villages. In Esens we were rewarded with a really well-preserved mill!
thanks to the tailwind - Today, the theory of the vote "From West to East driving" - flew the dikes and behind or in front of camp-sites with millions of homes is the only way past us.
Since we arrived too early in Horumersiel, we use the opportunity yet for a nice walk across the mudflats!
